Track your credit cards and loans

Add each card or loan, enter what is due every month and watch the balance come down.

Steps

  1. 1Open “Credit cards & loans” from your profile menu and choose “Add a credit card”. To track a loan instead, switch the toggle at the top of the form to “Loan” — it asks for the amount still owed and the original loan amount, and shows how much you have repaid.
  2. 2Enter the company (for example Barclaycard), a card name, and the bill date — the day of the month your bill is due. Add the current balance, credit limit, interest rate (APR) and the usual monthly payment if you know them.
  3. 3A monthly bill for the card now appears on your Dashboard on its bill date.
  4. 4Under “Monthly payments”, type the amount from your statement into any month to give that month its own amount. Months you leave alone use the usual payment, and the reset button puts a month back.
  5. 5Choose “Mark paid” when you pay a month: the amount comes off the balance. Un-marking it puts the amount back.
  6. 6Use “Record payment” for money paid outside the monthly bill, and “Update balance” to match your latest statement.

Each card shows how much of its limit is used (under 30% is good for your credit score), the credit still available, and a payoff estimate. Interest is an estimate only — your statement is what counts.

You get a reminder to enter this month’s amount as the bill date gets close. If you do not use credit cards, choose “I don’t have any — hide this” in your account checklist on the Notifications page.

Deleting a card or loan also removes its monthly bill from the Dashboard. Loan bills have their own “Loan” category.
